Laura M. Thomas, Lic. Acupuncturist
I have been practicing healing work for 27 years. In 2003 I graduated from the Northwest Institute for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and have been licensed and practicing Acupuncture since then. My four year degree consisted of Chinese herbology and acupuncture, Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM). I owned and operated a Community Acupuncture Center in Seattle, providing affordable acupuncture to the community at large. After moving to Chester, Vermont in 2008, I set up private practice.
With Energy Medicine, energy is the medicine and the patient.
We restore the energies that have become weak, disturbed, or out of balance and we use energy to do this.
Techniques from healing traditions such as acupuncture, yoga, kinesiology, and qi gong are used.
Many different energy systems are tapped into for balancing and correcting in Energy Medicine including the Meridians, 5-Elements, Chakras, Aura, Electrics, Radiant Circuits, Celtic Weave, Triple Warmer and in more advanced practices the Basic Grid.
“Energy Medicine is the next great frontier in medicine.”

Over the last 27 years I have also studied and practiced massage, cranial sacral therapy, breath work, and reiki. I also teach and lead classes and study groups in Energy Medicine and self healing practices. I am currently studying and preparing for Certification in Eden Energy Medicine. Integrating Energy Medicine has deepened my practice and effectiveness as a practitioner.
It is my passion and intent to inspire, teach and coach my patients and the public at large about the benefits and effectiveness of Energy Medicine for optimal health and healing. Many people leave a healing session relaxed, hopeful and empowered with useful tools to encourage self-healing beyond the healing session. Some of these self healing tools stem from acupuncture, QiGong, yoga, and brain gym.
Meridians are energy pathways that run up and down the entire body on the surface (where the Acupuncture points are accessed) and deep in the body where one or more organ systems connect with the related meridians. Acupuncture points are along the meridians on the surface of the body where the meridians can be accessed and tapped into to manipulate energy and correct imbalances.
Acupuncture is the insertion of needles into the body at the specific acupuncture points. Fine sterile needles are used specifically for acupuncture. Acupuncture is virtually painless with occasional tingling, achy or other mild sensations.
Acupressure is accessing and manipulating these same acupuncture points with touch using the fingers.
